Paul serves as the Greater Houston Chapter Director for The Foundation for Personal Financial Education (FPFE), a National non-profit organization that provides on site employee education dedicated to personal financial awareness.

Paul Hammersmith is also President and Chief Operating Officer of James E. Bashaw & Co. James E. Bashaw & Co. is a Houston Based Financial Services and Advisory Firm. The Firm currently manages $1.2 Billion in assets for both Institutional and Retail Investors and was recently listed as one of the top ten comprehensive Wealth Managers in the state of Texas. Paul is a nationally renowned speaker and expert in money matters and has worked in the Financial Services Industry for over 18 years as an Investment Advisor, Manager and Managing Director. Paul specializes in Retirement & Estate Planning for individuals and families. He has established a reputation within the industry by reducing risk during retirement, addressing cash flow needs and employing tax reduction strategies for his clients. A principle focus of the firm entails Corporate & Private Client Services and he works with local companies in the Houston area analyzing 401(K) plans and providing exit strategies for small and medium size businesses.

Paul is also very active in the community, devoting his time as a Deacon at Second Baptist Church in Houston and coaching his son‘s AAA Select baseball team. Paul and his wife Lisa have three children, Robert, Eric and Luke.

Nicole Lopez is the Chapter Coordinator for the Greater Houston Chapter of the Foundation of Personal Financial Education (FPFE), which is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization dedicated to financial awareness in the community.

Nicole joined James E. Bashaw & Co. in 2008 as a Registered Assistant, assisting financial advisors and their clients. She has been in the financial services industry for over 8 years previously with Wells Fargo Bank and MetLife Financial Services. She also holds many licenses including the Series 7,66, and group life insurance license. Nicole fluently speaks, reads, and writes in Spanish.

Terry Whitney is Co-Director of the Greater Houston Chapter of the Foundation for Personal Financial Education, which is a 501(c) (3) non-profit educational organization consisting of various financial professionals. This non-profit group includes, attorneys, accountants, financial advisors, and other financial service professionals who conduct educational workshops on an ongoing basis, covering important financial topics like retirement planning, financial management, estate planning, and asset allocation. The Foundation for Personal Financial Education (FPFE) conducts hundreds of workshops each year for companies, organizations, governmental institutions, and associations.

Terry is an independent investment and financial advisor with James E. Bashaw and Co. in Houston. He specializes in helping people accomplish their financial and life aspirations. Terry has helped both business owners and employees of many industries including energy, high tech, and education. He has guided retirees and their families in life planning.

Terry started his career with a national tax and financial advisory firm in Houston. He then worked at a small boutique firm and a regional firm before bringing his entrepreneurial approach to James E. Bashaw and Co.

Terry received his bachelor’s degree in Finance from San Diego State University. He also holds many licenses including the Series 7,63 for securities, a Series 31 for managed futures, a Series 65 as a registered investment advisor, and group life insurance license. Most recently, he attained the designation for Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF) which helps provide best practices for fiduciaries.

He lives in Kingwood, Texas with his wife Jeannie and their two children Graham and Allison.

Chad Helmcamp is a Member for the Foundation for Personal Financial Education, a non-profit educational organization comprised of various financial professionals providing current and pertinent financial information through instructional workshops. Chad has been working in the financial services industry since he was 18 years old. In his more than 15 years in the industry he has served as a wholesaler for AIM Investments as well as a Financial Advisor with UBS before finding his true calling as a mortgage consultant with a small internet lending company in 2003. Chad received his Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of Houston with a major in Finance. With his extensive financial background he understands the importance of financial education and the application of the principals learned.

Chad began his new career in the mortgage industry working for a company who focused on internet lending. It was a great opportunity where Chad learned how a mortgage was structured and the importance of placing a client in the right mortgage suited to their needs. Chad also learned that the real estate business is incredibly inefficient and recognized that his skill set is a perfect fit. Chad´s attention to detail and consistent follow up during the loan process has resulted in numerous repeat clients and a great deal of referrals.

Chad has a passion to teach others about the importance of real estate in everyone´s portfolio. Owning your own home is the cornerstone of your financial plan and the managing of this asset through intelligent mortgage planning is critical for your financial success.

Chad is a licensed Mortgage Loan Officer in the State of Texas and enjoys spending time with his family and traveling.

Chad is married to his beautiful wife, Rachelle of 4 years.
