Richard M. Barron founded the Barron Law Firm in 1991 after leaving the Sherman firm of Nance, Caston, Barron & Wilson. Mr. Barron holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Southern Methodist University, and received his Juris Doctorate degree from Texas Tech University College School of Law.
Mr. Barron is a frequent lecturer on Estate and Life Care Planning issues. Mr. Barron is also a legal counselor for The Foundation for Personal Financial Education, a non-profit educational organization, and enjoys donating his time to assist companies and their employees with their estate planning and elder care needs. Mr. Barron is a member of the Texas Bar Association, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and the Life Care Planning Law Firms Association. Mr. Barron works extensively in Medicaid and Veterans Planning to assist families across Texas that need to obtain these services for the care of their loved ones.
The Barron Law Firm emphasizes the areas of elder law, estate planning, and life care planning. The firm has extensive experience working with families, individuals, nursing homes, assisted living, and adult retirement facilities, educating and assisting them with preserving and protecting their assets, both from probate and the ravages of long term care costs. To achieve this, the firm uses special needs trusts, living trusts, wills, powers of attorney and accompanying documents. The firm encourages professional development of its staff through continuing legal education, including teaching and community involvement in professional associations and civic activities.
Mr. Barron is an accredited attorney with the Department of Veteran Affairs. He holds a Second Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwan Do, and is also a Veteran of the Vietnam War. While in Viet Nam. Mr. Barron served as a Cobra Helicopter Aircraft Commander, and is the recipient of twenty eight Air Medals; the Distinguished Flying Cross; the Air Medal for Valor; the Bronze Star; a Purple Heart; and the Vietnamese Cross for Gallantry. Mr. Barron is married to Glenda and lives in Lake Kiowa, Texas with their bull terrier, Brutus.
